An Experimental Inquire on Dry Sliding Wear Behaviour of Al-Si-Mg-Cu-SiC Composites Fabricated by Metallurgical Powder Technique

At present, material properties are being continuously improved in line with current technological developments to meet operational and safety standards. Designers consumers now look for materials that more energy effi- cient, stronger, lighter as well cheaper. A metal-matrix composite (MMCs) will represents a dominant class of which can be suitably designed the above requirements. With variety reinforcing flexibility their preliminary processing, Aluminum Metal-Matrix Composites (AMMCs) offer great potential developing composites desired prop- erties larger applications. In this research, novel has been fabricated Silicon, Magnesium, Copper, Silicon Carbide Aluminium 0.5, 2.5, 15 81.5 percent respectively by weight using metal- lurgical powder technique. The studied investigated its wear behavior dry sliding mode found wear-rate increases load applied sliding-speed decreases increase SiC content composites.
